Miss Liem qualified in 2009 as Plastic Surgeon, is fully GMC registered and a full member of the BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery). She previously worked at the internationally-acclaimed Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow and is now based at theNHS Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Glasgow (GJNH), which is renowned for its impressive record of excellent facilities, service and highest patient satisfaction.
She is trained in all areas of Plastic Surgery and has done fellowships (super-specializations) in Cosmetic Surgery at the prestigious Wellington Hospital in London and Microsurgery in Taiwan. For the latter, she was awarded several scholarships, including those from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow and the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (BAPRAS). She has visited several American Plastic Surgery Units and was also selected for one of the nine national Onco-Plastic Breast Fellowships (breast cancer and reconstruction), which she completed in 2010. She is also a qualified acupuncturist from the British Medical Acupuncture Society.
Academically, she has an MD research degree, published a book, book chapter, and many papers in international plastic surgery journals. She speaks 6 languages, has presented at many national and international meetings, and continues to develop professionally by attending professional meetings and auditing her results.
