Nipple reconstruction is the last stage following breast reconstruction. This operation is offered on the NHS as well. The operation can be done under general or local anaesthesia. Often the technique involves using local tissue on your reconstructed breast to make a new nipple. There is a small chance of losing the nipple and often the nipple flattens out a bit. Occasionally it can flatten out completely.
