Liposuction
Liposuction: removal of fat, via small cannulae inserted through your skin. It can be performed in areas of the body where there is excess fat, and is performed on its own or in combination with another procedure such as an abdominoplasty. It is best to have this procedure for localised fat areas that just won't shift despite having lost the fat in other areas. It is not a treatment for being overweight and often you will be advised to lose weight first before surgery if you are overweight to reduce your chances of post-operative complications. You will be left with small scars in the areas where the cannula is inserted. Most of the time you will be bruised for a while and it is best to bring a garment that can keep the area tight.
